Bale named in Marca best XI of 2010

by Dan Fitch on December 30, 2010

The Spanish daily sports paper Marca has named Tottenham’s Gareth Bale in their best XI of 2010. Bale was the only Premier League player to make the side, with Maicon the only other non-La Liga player to be named.

Bale was picked as the team’s left back in a 4-3-3 formation. Let’s just hope that’s he’s not playing out in Spain next season.

Casillas; Maicon, Pique, Puyol, Bale; Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta; Ronaldo, Messi, Villa.

That paper is basically a Real Madrid fanzine and I am concerned that they not only named him but as one of two foreigners. Real is in need of a left back, if they put half the pressure they put on Man U to get Ronaldo towards Bale, he’s gone. I hope Bale doesn’t fancy going back to LB.
