Corluka involved in expensive swap deal

by Matthew Harris on May 26, 2011

Tottenham’s Vedran Corluka has hit the celebrity gossip columns today in rather bizarre circumstances after exchanging his £36,000 watch with a nightclub waiter.

On a night out at the Whisky Mint, the waiter made a complimentary comment about Charlie’s Hublot at which point the Croatian promptly took it off and swapped it for a £150 Seiko.

In the story, a source at the club said: “Charlie took it off and handed it to him. Then he spotted the waiter’s watch and said he liked it. He said, ‘Let’s swap’. The waiter thought he was joking. Charlie’s a lovely bloke and always polite.”

While some areas of the press will look at the story and pass Corluka off as another footballer showing off in the money stakes, it really underlines what a character Charlie is. Next time you see him at Spurs Lodge however, it may just be worth complimenting him on his car.
