Giovanni Dos Santos continues to impress while on international duty with Mexico and at the same time he frustrates Spurs fans as he shows talent never before seen at White Hart Lane.

While Racing Santander seem reluctant to convert their loan signing into something more permanent, it seems that Sevilla may now be ready to step in and line the player up as a replacement for former Spurs man Freddie Kanoute.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Bido is quoted as saying: “Giovani dos Santos is one of the players we have spoken about but he is not the only option.

“But we are not going to spend seven or eight million euros on anyone, because we don’t have it.

“And we will not make that investment without knowing what will happen with Kanoute.”

While Sevilla may have other options, Gio is showing great form at international level and if he continues in that vein, his unhappy stay at White Hart Lane may finally come to an end.

  1. Seville: still as petty as usual. Want quality but wont pay for it. You would think that they owe us after we virtually “gave” them a quality striker (Kanoute) who top scored for them for years but despite Juande Ramos being as guilty as the WHL board they will never forget as it was “all our fault”
    .
I would tell them to get lost and sell to someone else if the hypocrites will not pay our price.

  2. What should we be expecting for Gio? He rarely played for Spurs and the club he spent last season with isn’t willing to invest in him. He has been successful with Mexico but I don’t think that’s a great indicator of what he could achieve at a high-level professional league.

Personally, I think getting $6-8 million for him would be acceptable but I really can’t see him going for more than that.

  3. Word in the west country is that we have signed Nicky Maynard from Bristol City – deal going through on 1st July -3 Million with Annick going the other way and season long loans for Khumalo and Townsend.

  4. I’d keep Gio, but Harry won’t give him a chance so I guess we should get some cash for him. Lots of spanish clubs seem interested and links today say a couple of prem teams are too. QPR; and a double swoop from Newcastle for Gio and Defoe, apparently they have bid £12 Million, with Levy holding out for £18 Mill.
