Earlier this week, Roman Pavlyuchenko had declared his concern that he would be the victim of Spurs desperate hunt for a new striker and that he would be the first Tottenham player out of the door this summer.

Despite openly declaring that he was happy to stay at the club and that his ‘heart’ was at Tottenham, Pav had this to say about the situation,

“I feel comfortable here. But we have five strikers: myself, Crouch, Defoe, Keane and Van der Vaart. Someone will be sold or go on loan.”

Meanwhile, the rumours over a departure for Peter Crouch started to increase and if you believe Pav’s agent today, it will be Crouchy who is first to leave,

“He needs to sell players and to buy new ones. Two or three teams are interested in Peter Crouch” said Oleg Artemov.

“So he is most likely to be the one of the five Spurs attackers to leave.”

While the agent may not be the most reliable source, with ten days to go before the season starts, you feel that something has to happen soon and as Crouch was sent to play at Orient last week while the majority of the first team travelled to Brighton, maybe Mr Artemov is right in his conclusion.

  1. well hopefully Pavs agent is correct, and while he’s doing a redknapp and using the media he should release a statement reading ‘we’ve only seen glimpses of Romans ability so far but this season Roman plans to show Spurs consistant performances each week that make it impossible to leave him out of the starting 11, and to show Spurs why he deserves a new deal’

  2. This should tell Harry Crouch is better because Pavs agent is frightened with Crouch showing Harry he can score from distant.Pav has not learned English and is ideal fro Russia and we can get Love in return

    • lol not only are you an idiot but notoriously known to be an idiot, i think its time for a name change. For some reason i see any of our strikers scoring goals the instant they leave our club. Crouch and K. Jones could be deadly with Etherington and Pennant whippin in the crosses and Delaps slingshot throwins. I can see Defoe being prolific anywhere and even Keane going back to the Scottish League could see him finish his off his carreer on a high note.. holy testicles.. watching Sky Sports and just saw Marco Fabian’s insane goals within 2 minutes of each other against Barca, i believe i just struck wood.
