Fabio Capello may have decided for reasons best known to himself that he doesn’t require the services of Jermain Defoe this week but if he needs a goal from somewhere, perhaps Kyle Walker can provide it.

Capello was in the stands as Walker scored the winner over Arsenal at the weekend and it’s felt that the right back could feature at some stage as England prepare to take on Montenegro tomorrow night.

Certainly his new Spurs and England colleague Scott Parker believes that Walker is ready to answer the call.

“Since I have been at Tottenham, Kyle has really stood out,” said Parker this week.

“He is a fantastic player. He is young, he has bundles of energy, and is very quick.

“He scored a very good goal at the weekend but his performance before that was really good.

“I am sure if he is called upon on Friday he will be more than ready to go.”

Walker was expected to make his England debut in the abandoned friendly against Holland back in August but after his performance in front of the England boss at the weekend, he finally seems set to join the illustrious list of Tottenham’s England internationals.

  1. Wish both Scotty & Walker ( if given a chance to start) to show Capello how its done. I am rooting for Walker to fire another cannon like the one he did against Arsenal.
