We’ve already seen the comments made by Lille midfielder Eden Hazard in which he openly referred to Spurs when talking about a potential move to the Premiership. Here’s a reminder of what he said.
‘Maybe it will be Tottenham. It is a great English club,’.
‘I said that I would go to England and there is very good players at Spurs.
‘I have not yet signed. This is going to happen soon’
Naturally these comments are a long way off admitting to a done deal but Hazard’s Lille team mate, on loan Argentine defender Mauro Cetto has also linked the Belgian international to White Hart Lane.
“This year he has grown and in terms of goals and assists, he is incredible”, Cetto said.
“He makes a difference. He is a complete player.
“But he will play in England, at Tottenham.
“I think that his future will be there.”
The French media are also claiming that Spurs are in the lead for Hazard’s signature, despite reported interest from both Manchester clubs and English bookmakers also show Tottenham as favourites to capture the Belgian.
So is there really some ‘In the Know’ stuff here or is it all talk?
we have to be careful here that we dont over publicise the fact we want Hazard. The boy can play and hopefully he’ll come to us. The ITK could be genuine seeing as he plays with Hazard. Maybe the Champions League money and the sales of Pav, Palacios and Crouch could be the finance needed to get him in, i just hope he doesnt ask for ridiculous wages which are ruining the game. We have Chelsea and City to thank for that.

We only SELL players and snap up players for free (except Parker). Maybe our financial situation is worse than we might think, maybe Levy is saving for the new stadium, but I don’t see him spending suddenly 40.000.000 for one player. IMO, this would only be the case if Bale or Modric will be sold. And if I’m wrong: please spend some money first on 2 defenders, the ones we have are old or rubbish.
sounds like he’s trying to let other clubs know he’s available…i’d love him at the lane but can’t see us competing for these players while we’re getting 36000….once we’ve got that 55000 stadium we’ll be able to offer the big fees and wages. you never know though…he might not be after massive money. he’d be pretty much guarenteed a game in a CL (please) club rather than warm the bench at Real or Barca. in short…i don’t know what i’m talking about
