Emmanuel Adebayor did much to restore fans’ faith in a top four finish with his two goals in the 3-1 win over Swansea on Sunday. The striker’s future at the Lane has been firmly under the microscope in the last few days but for now, he is clearly focussing on making certain of fourth place at the very least.
“For me my target before coming to join Tottenham was to get in to the top four and we are in a good position to do that now,” the player told Spurs TV.
“We are in the FA Cup semi-final as well. We just have to give it a go, try to give everything and finish in the top four, and why not win the FA Cup as well?”
After a run of two points in five games, many were questioning Tottenham’s mental strength as they strove to secure Champions League football but Ade believes the performance against Swansea proves that this isn’t the case.
“When Swansea pulled it back to 1-1 it was quite difficult, but in the head we have a good squad, we have belief,” he added.
“We knew in our heads that we could change it around. We showed character and personality by winning right at the end.”
Adebayor is a key man in our quest to finish in the top four but will he still be here next season to enjoy Champions League football?

what a legend, wish he could find his shooting boots sometimes but he works bloomin hard, seems to have a brilliant attitude. If only he was cheaper……

  2. Ady answered all our worry’s we all knew he had a great leap but the balls never got to him and when they did he scored. The game at Sunderland will be hard because the Arsenal reject and his team mates upped there tempo after Everton kicked them back to Bruce’s team average. This will be our biggest enemy in the last seven coming up against desperate work rate OPR Wigan all showed when the trap door of relegation opens performance levels rise. The answer will Ady be at Spurs must be a sad no not because of his wages but because the special one is being touted by the spanish media to be heading to city this could mean Ady going back with Modric and dont rule out Lennon and Bale following him there we need a big Arab owner or Bill Gatley to love Spurs.
