It’s over a year now since Spurs were first linked with Internacional striker and Brazilian international Leandro Damiao after it was revealed that the club had made an official bid last summer.

Since then, the 23 year old’s stock has risen and his asking price has undoubtedly increased too. If he hadn’t passed under AVB’s radar before, his four goals in Brazil’s London 2012 will have underlined just how much talent and potential he possesses.

Now, the media are reporting that Spurs are about to make their move although the suggested offers which start at around £15million may be a little optimistic. Naturally, there are links with other clubs too but his present employers claim that no bids have been received recently.

That might put Spurs in pole position and it’s thought that Inter may be open to negotiations now. As always, we’ll find out shortly as to whether there is any truth in these latest reports.

    • I totally agree with Matt, but were talking about Spurs here, we don’t splash that sort of money even if we sell Luka, Trust me you watch.

    • What about a Modric “replacement”. Can’t tell me anyone at the club can do the play-dictating game Luka does (not even The Hudd !) ?? My money’s on Moutinho but at £24m he is pricey, better take a look at Mousa “Poor man’s Modric” Dembele at around £12-15m…

  1. Tottenham hotspure make dream squad sell- NAUGHTON-BASSONG-JENAS-MODRIC-BENTLAY-PINNER / BUY-LLORIS-VAN DAR WIEL-CISSAKHO-MVILLA-GANSO-STERLING-HULK-DAMIAO-BORILIO(LOAN) young squd buy[ UVINI, LASELLAS, STERLING, ATU, NINANG, BUTTON]

    • Any club could say buy Hulk, Ganso et al and we’ll be better. Reality is slightly different. Hulk’s buy out clause is something like £40m and will likely wants well over £100k+.

Damieo, Adebayor and Lloris are realistic buys and top players who will put us where we want to be.

  2. Always a moron appears on a football site: like maggots to **** which is an appropriate metaphor.
Followed this sriker for years and much prefer him to Adebayor and hope that THFC get him.

I often wonder if THFC supporters to to other club websites and behave like this: I hope not. As a rule it seems to be a gooner chav thing.

    • I want to agree with you and say it’s those chavvy Gooners, Spammers and err Chav-skis, but unfortunately I know for a fact that there are some equally bad spurs fans who do the same.

  3. To be honest, I’m pretty shocked that we’ve gone so long without too much activity. Needed the squad assembled before trip to Newcastle. Rather than confirm what we all already knew anyway, AVB should’ve told the likes of Jenas and Bassong to stay behind and sort of moves away from White Hart Lane.

    • Adebayor doesn’t need time to bed in at least after being with us last season, as long as he’s kept his fitness up over the summer.

  4. Me Julie doesn’t understand!
Yesterday I posted what I thought was a literacy piece of art. (Can copy again if you ask). But me Julie just looked at it and said how sad I was!! Taken aback by this I asked her to explain her cutting comments. She rattled on about how pathetic I and you lot are for reading every scrap of spurs news. Now as a teacher I do have a tough summer of Euros, Open Golf, Grand Prix, Wimbledon, Test Cricket and the Olympics to battle through in order to be ready for the start of the new season. I’ve told her how hard this is and that I just make it look easy but she don’t believe a word. She seems to of lost the idea that I loved Spurs before I knew her and will long after she gets her marching orders!!! (can you feel the slap I’m going to get?) She whittled on that at least she supports a team who are not all about money, Cambridge United, who play at the Abbey Stadium and how they used to have Dion Dublin in their team. Like a give a Modric! To find out if I am correct to hang on to every printed and spoken word about the beloved spurs my question to you is………..
Am I Sad or should me Julie receive a back hander Andy Murray would be proud of.
    So SAD or SLAP

    • I think you should find somewhere in between.
For me one of the good things about Spurs (football, most sports) is that it is mine/ours (us fans). The misses should stay out of it. And it does not matter one bit wether she understands it or not.
We can do most other things together.
I do not want her with me when I go to The Lane or sit in the pub and watch my beloved SPURS.
      COYS.
And leave the horse-dancing-thingy to the girls.
Tell your girl to leave you to it. Then she can go and dream about the good times with Dion. You might be able to join her/them later;-)
      It is a win win.

      COYS.

P.s. Get Damiao and Ade and lets start challenging for titles.

      • The only way the misses should be considered in a sports conversation (really applies to anybody), is if, they are really passionate about the team/sport/issue or knows what they are talking about. I think to a certain extent everybody hear including myself are sad. But as long as you enjoy what ever it is who really cares it’s your life.

  5. Lloris (£10m)
    Vertonghen (£9.5m)
    Sigurdsson (£8m)
    Muller (£23m)
    Dzeko (£24m)

    TOTAL IN = £74.5m

    Squad:

    Lloris, Gomes, Friedel
    Walker, Naughton, Smith
    Vertonghen, Kaboul, Dawson, Caulker
    BAE, Rose, Fryers
    Lennon, GDS
    Modric, Sandro, Huddlestone, Parker, Livermore
    Bale, Townsend
    VDV, Sigurdsson
    Dzeko, Muller, Defoe, Kane

    Starting XI

    Lloris
    Walker Kaboul Vertonghen BAE
    Sandro
    VDV Modric
    Muller Dzeko Bale

      • Dzeko will not come. Why would he leave £200k a week, just over a year into a contract? No one elses fault they are paying that much for someone to sit on the bench.

Muller – Want him, but not going to happen while no CL. I would expect him to be £100k+ too.

Lloris, Adebayor & Damieo are about the top level we can hope for / afford in our current situation and that is at a push, if Damieo would even want to come. But would be anough for us to compete at the top with the rest of the squad we have.

  6. I first saw this report in goal.com earlier this morning and immediately dismissed it as the usual bullshit associated with that particular site however, if by some fluke the news is indeed correct, then I’ll take back some of the things I’ve said about goal.com.
Various blogs around the web have linked Spurs to every Tom, Dick and Harry World Wide and when these players are sold to other clubs, it always ends up “Spurs” being snubed again when there wasn’t an ounce of truth in the rumour in the first place. I will take this little offering from goal.com with a huge pinch of salt until I see a picture of Damiao in a Spurs shirt standing shoulder to shoulder with AVB outside Spurs lodge.

  7. I can see us getting him but we need to offer the right money which unfortunately will be around the £20m mark. 18 months ago we offered £12m but his team were holding out for £15m we really should have paid them, we are fast running out of time and need to sort our act out now!!
We also need a GK if we are going to play this high line because Brad I’m afraid is not athletic enough and stays on his line way too often and Gomes well the less said the better……..

  8. Mr Levey ….please lets obtain 2 srikers & french goalie NOW..waiting for Modric …when we have moneys in from outgoing players + let Bently / Genas / Gomes …immediately! or will start season without scoring!

  9. in
    Lloris (£10m)
    Vertonghen (£9.5m)
    Sigurdsson (£8m)

    Bentley(£3m)

    Sorted!!

yes I know I have valued the dross at silly money, but you get the idea.

  11. Levy should bite the bullet and let the likes of Jenas and Bentley swan off on a free, off our wage bill and good riddance I say…

  12. YOU GUYS AND ALL YOUR DREAMS THIS PLAYER IN THAT PLAYER OUT , AS A SPURS SUPPORTER FROM 1962 I HAVE LEARNED TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT PLAYER IS IN THE BELOVED WHITE SHIRT OF SPURS ON THE BENCH OR ACTUALLY PLAYING IN THE EARLY DAYS WE WERE ALLWAYS IN MAKING HISTORY WITH OUR TRANSFER FEES FROM GREAVES , JENNINGS , PETERS , CHIVERS , BLANCHFLOWER , MCKAY , GASGOINE , WADDLE , COAT`S , GINOLA ETC ETC ETC OTHER SO CALLED BIG CLUBS WAITED HELD THEIR BREATH TO SEE WHO SPURS WERE GOING TO GO FOR NEXT AND WE USUALLY BLEW ANYONE OUT OF THE WATER INCLUDING MUNURE UTD , WHEN THESE TACTIC`S WERE ONGOING WE (SPURS) CAME UP WITH THE GOODS LEAGUE & FA CUP DOUBLE , CHARITY SHEILD`S , EUROPEAN CUP WINNER`S CUP`S , INTER CITY`S FAIR`S CUP`S IT GO`S ON AND ON AND ON , BUT NOW ITS THE VERY LAST SECOND SIGNING`S TO GET THE SCRAP`S FROM OTHER`S TABLE`S , THE CAST OFF`S NOBODY WANT` ONLY SPURS , GET BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS AND ASAP COYS ! ! ! !

  13. John Duckett, find the caps lock key, load the spell checker and take another tablet…whilst waiting for the men in the white coats…

  14. People in here keeps talkin about bringin Ade in. Hasnt that ship sailed, due to his huge wage-demands? Or is there any new reports in how we could finance his wages? I think his wages could or should be baked in to his price-tag. For only a fee of around £5m its a bargain. A man who posesses crucial quality in many parts of the game, and can play along with different kinds of players, makes an asset for our squad. He can finish the passes from Bale, Vdv, Modric (or his successor), he can also hold the ball and assist his companions in front. Remember he was 3. mvp in the prem last year, in his debut for spurs, and after coming in to the squad late. And what will City do, and Ade for that matter? I dont think i wants to stay at City and do nothing, and City will not get any value of him sitting on the bench. So i guess they should try to do something about his situation. Lets just hope the solution is that they can pay, lets say 30% of his wages. Then they will save 70% on his wages. Thats not bad for an over-waged guy, doin nothing at his current club.

  15. Fuck off Dave you Dick, at least John Duckett has a good opinion unlike nearly all of these dumbasses that commit on this site!

  16. Just saw Damiao score two more goals in the Olympic semi-final. Spurs can add another 10 mil to their bid for him to have any hope. Hard to believe the management has been closely monitoring him for two years now and still have no idea of his worth… This whole Spurs soap opera every year is getting very, very boring. Does Levy honestly believe Modric is worth nearly three Damiaos?
