David Bentley’s Tottenham misery is prolonged until January at least with the news that the 28 year old has joined Russian Premier League outfit FC Rostov on a short term loan.

Bentley had suggested at the start of the season that new head coach Andre Villas-Boas had given him a clean slate and asked the winger to prove that he still has a future at the club. However, with first team football a distant possibility, Bentley now heads to Russia, with the transfer window already closed in the UK.

David’s last game for Spurs came in the 2010-11 season and after an injury ruined loan at West Ham last season, his long term future is still up in the air. The only thing that seems certain is that after the clean slate promised by AVB hasn’t been taken advantage of, Bentley’s career at Spurs is effectively over.
