Our Europa League campaign starts in just a few hours now and our first opponents, Lazio are identifying one man as the key to Tottenham’s success.
Gareth Bale showed signs of his best form in our first win of the season last Sunday and the player has admitted that he is revelling in his new role under AVB. There is a chance that Bale could be rested tonight but he certainly seems to be the player under the microscope as far as our opponents are concerned.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Lazio boss Vladimir Petkovic said,
“I think not how we can stop Gareth Bale, but how we can make life difficult for him.
“We will respect the opponents, but try to take the initiative so we’ll neutralise Tottenham’s style of football by imposing our own.”
The squad announcement is due shortly but as far as Lazio are concerned, it seems they will be looking out for one name in particular.
He is just one of several Petkovic is worried about! I don’t think he will concentrate on just Bale!
