Spurs have been linked with a summer approach for Southampton’s promising young defender Luke Shaw. The full back is just 17 but has already made 20 league appearances for the Saints this season to command a regular place in what must be a very busy position.

It’s predicted that Shaw has a big future and even at this early stage of his career, several big name clubs have been linked in recent weeks including Manchester United and Arsenal but Spurs are tipped to make an early approach in an attempt to gain a quick advantage.

Clearly this is a promising player but at a quoted transfer fee of £8m rising to £15m, will he be another Gareth Bale or another Chris Gunter?

  1. Highly unlikely, I’ve been watching Shaw all season, and reckon he destined for bigger and better things than the odd season in the Champions League.

  2. There is no quoted fee for Shaw as he is not for sale, no amount has ever been quoted from the Saints camp. Shaw has also agreed to sign a new 5 year deal once he turns 18 in a few months time so he wont be leaving Southampton anytime soon.

  3. The way Spurs expoited Southampton’s financial situation a few years ago, with dropping Gareth Bale’s sell on clause……I find it hard to believe he will be ever be Spurs bound.
