Gareth Bale returned to Tottenham’s starting XI for last weekend’s game with Manchester City and made an instant impact in our 3-1 win. However, his team mate on the opposite wing sat the game out but all reports seem to suggest that Aaron Lennon is winning his own fitness battle and should be available for Saturday’s match with Wigan.
Aaron has been missing since picking up an injury in our 2-2 home draw with Basel and like Bale, his absence was keenly felt. Lennon may not pick up the same amount of headlines as the Welshman but statistics continue to prove his worth to the side when he’s been on the pitch.
It’s been the 26 year old’s most productive season for some time with four goals and eight assists so this has to be good news for the club, and for Andre Villas-Boas who is set to have a near-full squad to choose from once again.
