Tottenham prepare to face a Swindon unit at the County Ground this evening ahead of what promises to be a series of challenging games for the side. After tonight’s match, the team face Colchester on Friday before travelling to Hong Kong and the Barclay’s Asia Trophy.
The first two games will be about getting some game time and giving some of the fringe members a chance but Jermain Defoe is one player expecting a stern test from both of our first two opponents.
“They will be fit and that will be a test for us. That will help us get fit ourselves,” Jermain said.
“They will want to beat us and every game at this level you want to win, there are no friendlies, even in training.
“We’ll look forward to these games and try to win – we want that mentality going into the season.”
Tottenham will play two games in the Asia Trophy before two final friendlies against Monaco and Espanyol before the season finally gets underway with that away trip to Crystal Palace. But before the real action begins, who do you think will make an impact in that list of pre-season matches?
