Belgian International winger Nacer Chadli became the second man to join the Tottenham revolution this summer after a deal was agreed between Spurs and FC Twente at the weekend. The move is still subject to personal terms and a medical but the fact that this was officially announced on the club’s website suggests that it’s a mere formality.

We’d looked at the credentials of the 23 year old over the last couple of weeks or so after the deal was first mooted and Chadli looks a great prospect – a man capable of playing on either wing who has averaged around a goal every four games at club level.

For those of us who had forgotten, the news channels were replaying his free kick goal against Spurs in the Champions League three years back but Nacer will have to get in the queue as far as dead ball striking is concerned.

Meanwhile, here is another compilation of clips placed on YouTube to show fans what they can look forward to, so welcome to the Lane Nacer Chadli.

  1. Looks pretty useful, guess we’ll not be playing 4-3-3 then. Unless Bale is played as a striker (which he won’t be).
    4-4-1-1 like last year.
This means 2 of Sandro, Dembele and Paulinho to start with one on the bench. Chadli and Lennon to start on the wings with Townsend backing up.
    Bale in behind Ade

  2. I can’t see him starting every week just yet, holtby looks like a real promising young player as does Townsend but they will be second choice to a bale an Lennon. We will play both formations depending on who wer playing, home or away. He did look good against us tho, a real exciting player.
