Any transfer rumours right now must surely be taken with a big pinch of salt considering that the transfer window has only just closed but one unwelcome story is linking big spending Monaco with Tottenham’s own number one, Hugo Lloris.
The French international was in the spotlight this week after two handling errors while on world cup duty but in general Lloris has been consistent between the posts and had brought a welcome end to some of the comedy goalkeeping we’ve seen at White Hart Lane.
While it’s an early rumour ahead of the January transfer window it also seems an unlikely one. Monaco currently have Croatia’s Danijel Subašić in goal and the 28 year old has only conceded twice in four Ligue 1 games so far.
Furthermore, the French side have now taken Argentine international Sergio Romero on loan from Sampdoria until the end of the season. So, if there is any interest from Monaco it’s unlikely to manifest until the end of the campaign but with Bale gone, Hugo arguably becomes our most important player and after a long, unsettled period between the White Hart Lane sticks, it’s vital that we hang on to him.
Yes we should, hes probably the best keeper out there after Buffon….Guys going to go down a White Hart Lane LEGEND…Levy hold on to him please….
If Monaco or PSG come calling, and they will… I don’t think we can hold him. Not unless we make him the highest paid keeper in England, and while I wish that will happen, I don’t think he will stay unless we make top 4 this year. Everything again is contingent on us making top 4, and giving him a raise.
