Still no news from the club on who is available for tonight’s Capital One Cup clash but it seems that the only player we can definitely rule out at this point is Danny Rose. According to Talksport, Etienne Capoue and Younes Kaboul could come into the mix and offer more chances for the first choice XI to take a break.
The big question lies up top where many are tipping Emmanuel Adebayor to start his first game of the season. That seems likely but will Ade lead the line on his own or appear as part of a ‘radical’ 4-4-2 with Jermain Defoe?
Behind the striker(s) Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen may well start as they look to claim regular slots.
Here are our thoughts but what’s your view?
That looks pretty good. Should do a better job of attacking the 5-4-1 that Hull will most likely play again.
Why not? A 50-50 penalty call on Sunday was the only thing that kept them from a point. Also, Livermore has been the main partner for T-Hudd most of the season and he is ineligible.
I can’t see success with Naughton on the left -Either switch him to the right and rest Walker or drop him. Question then is who to play left back – how about Holtby???
my team would be Friedel
naughton/walker Chiriches Dawson HOLTBY
Lamela Eriksen Chadli
Defoe and Ade or Kane
lloris
naughton, kaboul, dawson, fryers
sandro, holtby, capoue
chadli, defoe, lamela
Brad
Stewart. Vert. Kaboul. Naughton
Capoue. Bentaleb
Lamela. Sigi. Chadli
Ade
looks great but bet avb doesnt utilize it
I don’t think we should play naughton at all he was awful at right back against sheriff and defo ant a left back so we are struggling with left back unless verts plays there I’d try holtby no worse than wot naughton and give lamela a chance through the middle where he was dangerous for Roma hope Kabul and Capoue are fit coys!
