Spurs overcame a resilient Fulham side to put a welcome three points on the board with their first league victory since Hull at home on the 27th of October – six games ago.

Tottenham had to come from behind with long range efforts from Vlad Chiriches and Lewis Holtby, both of whom registered their first league goals for the club and Andre Villas-Boas acknowledged the value of their efforts after the game.

“We tried by sending the ball wide and crossing but it was only going to come from outside the box and we had two great finishes from Vlad and Lewis,” Andre said on the club’s official website.

“We’ve been a bit unlucky of late, this time we were a little more fortunate. Hugo made some brilliant saves, we have to admit that. We were also unlucky in our chances.

“It was very important for the team to get a win back in the Premier League – it almost completes our bouncing back from the City defeat,” the boss concluded.

After being accused of lacking the ability to score away from the penalty spot, we’re now raining them in from outside the box. It wasn’t convincing but a win remains a win and the three points propels us into sixth ahead of a rare Saturday game at the Stadium of Light this weekend.

  1. You deservedly got a point from the United game. And you deserved the win last night. Credit where it’s due. So congratulations.

  2. Hugo was great, vlad showed his teeth, and lewis bagged the points. Sunderland will be a tricky trip, maybe bardesley can put one in for us. Three points sat and the toffees beat the nomads on sunday. Perfect weekend ! COYS
