Spurs looking to pass on teenage French striker

Looking at the news feeds this morning and there is a lot of fuss over French Under 21 international striker M’Baye Niang with suggestions that Spurs and Arsenal are set to battle it out for the teenager’s signature. However, after looking at his scoring record it’s a little hard to understand why there would be such a clamour for his signature.

Niang is just 19 and is currently on the books at Milan but after an underwhelming couple of years at the San Siro, he finds himself on loan at Montpellier for the rest of the campaign. Described as a Serie A hit man by one report, the player failed to score in 28 league appearances for Milan but has so far managed three goals in 11 for his loan side.

Niang isn’t always played as an out and out forward but that’s how the press are selling him. At 19 he may well develop but for now, we’d prefer Harry Kane thanks all the same.
