France may be favourites to win tonight’s crucial World Cup tie against Switzerland but anyone looking to back Didier Deschamps’ team would do well to look at recent head-to-heads between the two. The teams have met in three competitive matches to date and each of those has ended with a share of the points.

Tottenham’s French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is among those who are fully aware of the danger that the Swiss pose,

“Switzerland always have a good team so it’s not easy,” said Hugo, on Spurs’ official website.

“They are always strong and we know them quite well because some of their players have featured in Europe.

“They also finished top of their qualification group so that means they are very competitive. We know they will be at 100 per cent so it will be a very tough game.”

With interest in England’s campaign starting to fade, it’s good to have some Spurs players to keep an eye on but will Hugo keep another clean sheet to help his country progress to the knockouts?
