adebayor stretchIf Harry Kane stays fit and firing for the second half of the season there may not be a first team vacancy for a new striker but looking at the bigger picture, Spurs must surely bring someone in during this transfer window? Sounds familiar and if all three senior centre forwards stay at the club in January then it may be another barren period but naturally there are rumours over Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Times claims that the Togolese centre forward could be on his way to the MLS: A sound deduction or just a decent punt considering this is now a popular destination for players the wrong side of 30 who are looking for one last big pay day?

Whatever the situation, it’s interesting to note that no specific club has been mentioned – only the suggestion that Spurs will be looking to tout Ade around.

Sooner or later, the club will have to buy for this position and one name in the frame is that of Emmanuel Emenike, a 27 year old Nigerian international with a really strong record in Russia and in Turkey.

Current club Fenerbahce have hinted at Tottenham interest and for a reported fee of £15m, Emenike’s stats certainly add up.

Is now the time to offload Ade?
