When Spurs were drawn in the Europa League against Anderlecht and Monaco we found ourselves getting rather excited. Glamorous opposition that didn’t involve a huge away trip. Was this really the Europa League?
Well, yes it was. To prove it FK Qarabag came out of the hat and suddenly Tottenham had a 4900 mile round trip to Azerbaijan on their hands.
What’s worse is that it’s scheduled on November 26th, just three days before Spurs’ home match with Chelsea. We also have a home match against Anderlecht three days before the trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal.
