Tottenham breezed past strugglers Aston Villa to go within two points of leaders Leicester City in the race for the Premier League title.
Harry Kane struck either side of half time to give Spurs a six point lead over third place Arsenal.
Dele Alli’s quick free-kick set Kane up for his first two minutes before the break. The young midfielder repeated the trick straight after half time, assisting Kane’s second goal of the game.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the result and performance.
Tottenham just don't give up do they? Relentless on and off the ball from them this afternoon. It's exhausting watching. #AVLTOT

Don't think there have been many games this season where Alderweireld wasn't a contender for MOTM. Virtually flawless again today.

A 2-0 thrashing for Spurs over Villa, who, weirdly, could have made it close at the end. Two big old clubs heading in oppo directions

These last eight games, I don't overly care too much about how many we score or how our performance is like – just need three points.

We were quite laboured today. Hopefully a touch of complacency rather than tiredness.

Great response to the midweek defeat. Now then – full strength vs Dortmund Thursday and deal with the consequences vs Bournemouth? I would.

Only thing you can pick slight fault at today is the fact we didn't win by more goals, that in itself shows how far we've come! #COYS#THFC
