Christian Eriksen will not be playing at Euro 2016 this summer but today he proved that he would have graced the tournament had Denmark qualified.
The Spurs attacking midfielder scored a quick-fire hat-trick in Denmark’s 4-0 win over Bulgaria. The first goal came in the 72nd minute when Eriksen reacted first to a rebounded shot to fire home from just inside the area to make it 2-0.
Then just two minutes later Eriksen found himself in space outside the box and ran at the Bulgarian defence, before carefully placing a long-range shot past the keeper.
Eriksen completed a ten-minute hat-trick in the 82nd minute, scoring the fourth goal after being played in on the right and slipped the ball into the bottom corner. Watch the match highlights below.
