The big news over the past couple of days has been the resignation of Paul Mitchell from Tottenham. The club’s Head of Recruitment is tipped to join Leicester in a more powerful role and fans are split as to the seriousness of the decision.
There are some that feel Mitchell is just a small cog in a big machine and that his significance is being over-estimated. Others worry about what is going on behind the scenes of the club and how Mauricio Pochettino will feel about his former Southampton colleague feeling that it’s time to go.
Here’s how Spurs fans have been reacting to the news on Twitter.

Mitchell's probably resigned over Levy and his bollox transfer policy

From what I understand, Daniel Levy and Paul Mitchell are on good terms and still working closely together. No underlying issues there.

Paul Mitchell was annoyed at the unprofessionalism in the N'Koudou deal by Spurs (Levy) factor in his departure @GFFN

Only Mitchell knows why he is leaving. Media will speculate. Levy is a shrewd negotiator, not everyone can thrive in this environment. #COYS

Don't know why people feel compelled to use Mitchell's departure as a stick to beat Levy with. Everything else must be going too well #COYS

To me it feels a bit like when Moniz left; Mitchell has come in, built up a team, changed practices, indoctrinated relevant people & is off.
