It was only this morning that news broke of Hull being in talks with Ryan Mason, but it now looks as if the deal has been hijacked.
Just as was the case when Alex Pritchard seemed on his way to Brighton, only to end up at Norwich, a rival team has swooped to snatch Mason in the form of Sunderland.
It was Sky that broke the news of the Mason transfer this morning and they now claim that the player is now in talks with Sunderland.

While Hull have started the season much better than Sunderland, the north east side are the bigger club and it can be argued that they have a more realistic chance of survival.
Hull have won both their games this season but started the season with just 13 fit first-team players Mason would be a major boost to their squad, but they need to buy a few more if they are to last the pace.
Sunderland are looking to rebuild under David Moyes, who has proved at Everton what he can achieve if given patience. They are likely to be able to offer Mason a larger salary and that could be the deciding factor in attracting the England international.
Looked good at S.O.L last season, creative and mobile.he certainly improves the squad.
Hope he signs we are stills little short in a couple of areas, good news if this go through
