Despite a poor performance Tottenham fought back against Liverpool to earn a point at White Hart Lane.
James Milner’s penalty gave Liverpool the lead just before half-time. Danny Rose cancelled out the opener midway through the second half with a well-taken finish.
Liverpool were the better side for much of the game, but Spurs’ tenacity means they are rarely killed off. The hosts remained in the game and fought hard for their point.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the result and performance.
Could have been worse, but let's not kid ourselves, that was a bad performance and a poor result. Not up to speed at all.

That was a bad, bad performance. From Tottenham, from several key players (Kane & Eriksen in particular) and from the referee.

I'll take that. Not a brilliant performance but a better last 30. Missed Dembélé more than the first two games. Wanyama my MOTM.

Spurs probably didn't deserve that point but improved after grabbing the equaliser. Liverpool will rue their missed chances. Ref terrible.

Well if we're really honest we got away with one there. A very poor performance from us (Bar Vorm) Take the point. Work to do
— Paul O Keefe (@pokeefe1) August 27, 2016
I'll take that. We were rubbish in the first half, so a point is probably fair (though I still think the pen was soft)

Considering how badly we played I'll take a draw. Need to beat Stoke/Sunderland/Middlesbrough though next 3 no excuses.

Good result for us – we should definitely be happier with that result than Liverpool. Conceded far too many chances to have won that game.

Vorm is my MOTM. Kept us in this game. Great fight to save the point. #COYS

'Great game'? Am I the only one who didnt think either side were much cop today? Strengths, weaknesses and rustiness all evident.#TOTLIV
