Ever since Mauricio Pochettino arrived at the club two years ago, there has been an emphasis on youth development at Tottenham.

Harry Kane, Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason have all played plenty of minutes under Pochettino, while a new group of youngsters, including Harry Winks and Cameron Carter-Vickers, look set to play intermittently this season.

And it appears Spurs are looking to add more young players to their youthful squad.

TalkSport believes Spurs could pursue Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman before tonight’s transfer deadline.

Lookman, 18, is also attracting the interest of Crystal Palace, who have reportedly bid £4 million for the young forward. West Brom are keeping an eye on the situation, too.

Arsenal and Southampton were said to be keen earlier in the transfer window, but it seems their interest has cooled, leaving Tottenham, Palace and West Brom to fight it out for the striker.

Lookman scored Charlton’s equaliser in the club’s League One clash with Bolton last weekend, and his current employers are keen for him to stay until January at least.

  1. Fuck off with 18 year olds levy is riding us again making a profit in the transfer window even tho we qualified for the champions league and got 100 million for tv rights he still won’t improve the squad Everton palace Liverpool have all showed more intent than us this window we will be lucky to get top 6 this season

  2. Our transfer policy Is a disgrace. We are a champions league team this season and we have a smaller squad than last year. How can we let 6 squad players leave and only sign 2 replacements. We need 3 quality signings and here we are chasing an 18 year old from Charlton, sissoko from the championship and Zaha who can’t get in the palace team some games. We may well be in a better financial situation under the current owners but we will never be league winners under them.

  3. Must say as a Spurs fan I’m pleased with the 2 signings we’ve made but concerned how we seem to be stuttering when it comes to signing anyone else .
Yes we have a good squad n promising youngsters coming through , but we’ve let go 6 players as stated above n are now hoping to improve on 3rd spot n have Champions League to contend with . Surely a couple more signings are necessary to compete with our Premier League rivals n continue the good work that Spurs have shown last season . Come on Levy it’s time to reward your manager n get these players in …..
