Yesterday we saw reports suggesting Tottenham have turned their attentions to Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko after giving up on Real Madrid playmaker Isco.

It appears those reports are true, with Sky Sports now suggesting Spurs have made a £16 bid for the Newcastle outcast.

The Mapgpies had initially slapped a massive £35 million asking price on Sissoko. Sky now report Newcastle want £30 million for the Frenchman, but Tottenham are unwilling to pay above £20 million.

Despite a poor campaign for his club last term, Sissoko impressed with a string of good performances for France at Euro 2016. He has been linked with a number of European giants this summer, including Real Madrid and Juventus.

But it looks like Spurs are the only club genuinely interested in taking the player off Newcastle’s hands on deadline day.

The France national team has revealed on Twitter that Sissoko has left their training camp to finalise a transfer.

Tottenham have sold Nacer Chadli and Ryan Mason for a combined £26 million over the last 48 hours, money that would fund a potential move for Sissoko.

The club is also excepted to announce the signings of Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Pau Lopez on deadline day.

  1. £35,000,000 is far far to much for a 27 year old with no selling on profit and he is after all a Championship League player so wise up Newcastle , he was pathetic last season he played well during the Euro 16 because he knew it was make or break or it was a case of remaining in the Championship League , if Spurs get him he must buck his ideas up 100% , Newcastle would never have been able to sell him on the form of last season so the Euro 16 saved their bacon .

  2. This annoys me, yes we all agree that £30m is too much but the market has moved on yet again, surely we realised that by getting £10m for Mason ? So my simple way of looking at it is would you swap Mason and Chadli plus a little bit of cash for Sissoko … Based on the Euros then it has to be a yes, God forbid we don’t sign him as Dembele gets injured cos one thing we’ve learnt already this season is how much Poch’s plan relies on a strong ball carrying midfielder …. Just pay the money please Daniel, we’re in the Champions league in case you haven’t noticed !
