Yesterday we reported Christian Eriksen is set to sign a new four-year contract with Tottenham worth £70,000-a-week, ending speculation about the player making ludicrous wage demands.
Now it appears the club is keen to tie down Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela, too. Negotiations have begun over new contracts for the duo, according to The London Evening Standard.
The report suggests Lamela is already on £70,000-a-week, so that could increase if he signs a new deal with the club.
Jan Vertonghen is apparently on £40,000-a-week, which will presumably improve when he commits his future to Tottenham.
Vertonghen and Lamela were key to Spurs’ title bid last season. And even with the new arrivals at the club, the pair appear to be two of the squad’s ‘undroppables’.
For that reason, it’s easy to see why Mauricio Pochettino is keen for both players to signs new contracts at White Hart Lane.
What do you think? Should Vertonghen and Lamela be rewarded for their fine form over the last year or so?
Pay them £20/goal!
That would be a sure fire way to increase their output ?
Yes they should be rewarded
How can any survive on £70k a week !!!!!!!!!
Well, if they wanna save some £££’s, I’ll play in any of those positions for a mere £5,000 a week ??
You would have to play in the Arsenal team for 5k ???
