It wasn’t so long ago that rumours seemed to suggest that Nabil Bentaleb’s time at Schalke may be short-lived, but his recent form suggests that he’s there to stay.
Bentaleb scored his first goal for Schalke in the recent 1-1 draw with Augsburg and followed it up with a brace this weekend.
The midfielder’s double helped Schalke to an impressive 3-0 victory over Mainz. After a poor start to the season, Schalke are slowly climbing the table and that’s good news for Tottenham.
Bentaleb’s season-long loan deal includes a buyout clause of £17m that can be activated in the summer. If he can maintain his current form, it will be a no-brainer for Schalke.
