There was a palpable sense of worry when Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld left the field in Tottenham’s 4-0 Premier League win against Stoke City last weekend.
Both have missed long spells of the season with injuries, and Mauricio Pochettino said the duo would go through a final fitness test ahead of Saturday to see if they can play against Everton at White Hart Lane.
Thankfully it seems those tests were positive; Vertonghen and Alderweireld both start, as does Harry Kane. The striker was also a minor doubt after colliding with the goal frame against Stoke.
Elsewhere, the side is completely unchanged from last weekend. Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.

Same 11. Strong 11. Everton will be hard to beat but we are the only unbeaten team at home and I believe in the team #COYS

Best X1 we could have picked, which is available to us. Hopefully it will do the same goods as it did vs Stoke. Come on you Spurs! #COYS

#thfc Lukaku the obvious threat but he's yet to score against Spurs. Vertonghen has handled him well & Alderweireld knows him too of course.

To describe Everton's midfield today as battling would be a tremendous understatement

We must start the game in a fast tempo and break down the Everton defence as soon as possible. That will derail their confidence as they are another in form team at the moment. It will hard for us to get the 3 points against this Everton team and I have predicted another draw game. COYS if u dare to prove me wrong and show us the real spurs, show us your fighting spirit and your mental toughness to win the game.
