We’ll play all our home games at @WembleyStadium for the 2017/18 season whilst we complete the construction of our new stadium development.

Daniel Levy has released an official statement on the decision, claiming it has taken longer than expected because of certain assurances the club sought concerning the development of the new stadium.
“The Lane means a huge amount to each and every one of us,” said the Tottenham chairman, “and we needed to gain greater certainty on the delivery of the new stadium before we made the final decision to commence with the decommissioning of our iconic, historic home for some 118 years.”
He added: “Wembley will be our home for a season and then we shall return to what will be one of the best stadiums of its kind and the most unique in the world playing host to NFL games too.
“Both on and off the pitch this is an incredibly exciting time in the history of our Club.”
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news.
White Hart Lane holds so many memories. We should cherish the last 2 games there. Emotional thoughts no doubt but what a future ahead of us.

Getting relegated at Wembley so we can win the league in the Championship, Levy’s a genius

Time now for everyone, including the club, to give White Hart Lane the proper (albeit delayed), send off it deserves. What a place. #COYS pic.twitter.com/QpLZPsm7Sw

Moving grounds can be unsettling and problematic, Wembley just the first part of that. All in the name of progress. No surprise is it.

This gives us an opportunity to drastically improve our wembley record for years to come. Make it a second home for future semis & Finals.

Wembley only option. No one wanted us remember. Over to Spurs. Decent prices, fill it with navy blue & white, then up to us to make it ours

Last game at White Hart Lane will be us playing against Mourinho’s ten-man deep block and drawing 0-0, lovely

Sad to see the end of The Lane. Like many of my generation we grew up and became men in that place. That said we have to look forward.
