Tottenham have had a £21.5 million bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva rejected, according to reports in Portugal.

Last week we relayed reports suggesting Spurs were “committed” to signing the 28-year-old midfielder who was instrumental to Portugal’s Euro 2016 win.

Now, Portuguese outlet O Jogo claims Tottenham have made an initial offer of £17.5 million with bonuses totalling £4 million, but it has been rejected by Sporting.

Apparently, the Primeira Liga club are holding out for £27 million. I’d be surprised to see Daniel Levy sanction such an expensive move for a 28-year-old.

If the video below is anything to go by, Silva might need to toughen up before he comes to the Premier League.
