Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele have known each other since they were 12 years old, long before they became teammates at Tottenham.
They are now close friends having played together for club and country for a number of years.
Despite their friendship, Vertonghen still likes to tease his compatriot about the very first goal he scored for Ajax.
Dembele, playing for AZ Alkmaar at the time, was supposed to be marking Vertonghen at a corner – but the defender slipped away and found the net.
