Tottenham are among the clubs interested in signing Norwich City midfielder James Maddison, according to the Telegraph.

Maddison has scored 15 goals for Norwich this season, earning him plenty of plaudits ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.

Spurs are believed to hold an interest in the 21-year-old, but the Telegraph claims he is also wanted by Arsenal, Everton, Manchester City, Southampton and Brighton.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side should be among the frontrunners for his signature, but Maddison would ideally like to join a club he will play regularly.

That is perhaps unlikely at Tottenham given that Maddison plays in the same position as Christian Eriksen.

However, the chance to work with Eriksen and Pochettino, who has an impressive track record when it comes to developing young English talent, could be too good an opportunity to turn down.

Spurs are in desperate need of a deputy for Eriksen – they sometimes look devoid of creativity when the Dane is rested.

But if Manchester City are genuinely interested in Maddison, I’d expect them to have say on his next destination.
