Tottenham and Leicester City are competing to sign Trabzonspor teenager Abdulkadir Omur, according to reports in Turkey.

The 18-year-old made 29 appearances in the Super Lig in 2017/18, scoring three goals and providing six assists as his side finished in fifth place.

According to talkSPORT, Omur’s performances have already seen the media dub him the ‘Turkish Messi’.

And Turkish outlet Haberturk claims Spurs and Leicester are both interested in signing the youngster this summer.

Trabzonspor apparently value Omur at £20 million and would be willing to sell him if that price is met by his suitors.

Omur is a pacy wide attacker who usually plays on the right, so he could potentially be an alternative for Wilfried Zaha or Anthony Martial if those targets prove unattainable.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been promised increased transfer funds to overhaul his squad this summer, and an attacker is said to be among his list of targets.

That said, I think Tottenham would be better off pursuing a forward who can also play through the middle to provide cover and competition for Harry Kane.
