Inter Milan plan to sign Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele this summer before allowing him to leave for China after two seasons in Serie A, according to reports in Italy.

Dembele, who has a year left on his current contract, is expected to make a decision on his future after the World Cup, but the signs are pointing towards the exit door.

Three Serie A clubs – Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan – have all been linked with a move for the 30-year-old, while there has also been reported interest from China.

And according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Inter are more keen than the others to sign Dembele this summer.

What’s more, they will promise the Belgian Champions League football until he is 33, the age he will turn in the summer of 2020, before allowing him to leave for the Chinese Super League.

It’s rare a player’s career is planned so far in advance, so it’s difficult to judge the reliability of the report.

But it’s looking more and more certain Dembele will leave Spurs in the coming weeks.
