Before England’s World Cup semi-final clash with Croatia on Wednesday night, Dele Alli spoke of his intention to nutmeg Luka Modric like he did in the summer of 2015.
Alli was playing in a pre-season friendly for Tottenham against Real Madrid when he poked the ball through the legs of his Spurs predecessor Modric.
And an eagle-eyed viewer on Twitter, @Paul_Denis8, noticed Alli was at it again on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old managed to perform his customary trick on Modric, although he was fouled before he could get on the end of it.
Of course, Modric had the last laugh as Croatia progressed to the final. But Alli’s nutmeg is worth another watch.
