Tottenham are considering a last-minute move for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in France.

Ndombele was linked with Spurs earlier in the transfer window when it looked certain Mousa Dembele would leave.

Dembele’s potential exit led to a string of potential replacements being lined up by the media, but Tottenham are yet to make a signing this summer and Dembele looks set to stay.

The Belgian has reportedly turned down a £20 million move to Inter Milan and could now see out the final 12 months of his contract with Spurs.

However, French outlet L’Equipe believes Tottenham could make a late offer for Ndombele regardless of Dembele’s future at the club.

Ndombele, 21, spent last season on loan at Lyon, who were obliged to make his move permanent this summer.

Last month, rumours emerged suggesting Lyon were already considering selling Ndombele for a huge profit, but rumours of a departure have gone quiet in recent weeks.

L’Equipe claims Lyon are now reluctant to sell, but Spurs will try to tempt them into negotiating before the Premier League’s transfer window closes on Thursday.

Whether Lyon will even talk to Tottenham remains to be seen.
