A thigh injury means Sergi Roberto will not play for Barcelona against Tottenham in the Champions League on Wednesday, according to reports in Spain.

Key defender Samuel Umiti had already been ruled out for Barcelona after being sent off against PSV Eindhoven in the first round of group stage fixtures.

And now, the La Liga giants have suffered yet another blow with Roberto having pulled up during the weekend draw against Athetlic Bilbao.

According to Spanish outlet AS (via Football Espana), Roberto will join Umtiti on the sidelines for the Spurs game.

While that’s undoubtedly a boost for Tottenham, the Londoners have a number of injury concerns of their own.

Dele Alli is out with a hamstring problem while Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are doubts after being substituted at half-time during Saturday’s win at Huddersfield Town.

Mauricio Pochettino will hope Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen are able to return from their injuries, but there has been no official confirmation yet.

After Barcelona, Spurs will face PSV – a couple of the Dutch champions’ best players have been linked with a move to north London this week.
