Only a few weeks ago, we brought you a report from the Mirror claiming Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in signing Manchester United defender Eric Bailly in January.

And now, the Star is claiming the exact same thing.

Bailly joined United from Villarreal in the summer of 2016 but injuries and form issues have seen him struggle to cement a place in Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up.

The centre-back was dropped following a disastrous performance against Brighton & Hove Albion in August – he was put back in the team against Newcastle United last weekend but was substituted after 20 minutes as Man United conceded two early goals.

If Spurs and Arsenal are genuinely interested in Bailly, they must be putting his current form down to a confidence issue rather than anything to do with his ability.

The Star claims Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of the 24-year-old, and Man United want to recoup the £30 million they paid for him.

Tottenham continue to be linked with centre-backs, with Toby Alderweireld contract situation seemingly no closer to being sorted.
