Tottenham are considering a move for Barcelona winger Malcom in the January transfer window, according to reports in Spain.

Malcom was heavily linked with a move to Spurs from Bordeaux last January, but the Londoners ended up signing Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain instead.

During the summer Malcom made a surprise move to Barcelona, but the Brazilian has appeared only twice for the La Liga giants so far and there are already suggestions he could be on his way out of the Nou Camp.

Spanish outlet Sport claims Tottenham could make a €50 million (£43.9m) move for Malcom in January.

Spurs failed to sign a single player in the summer. Mauricio Pochettino recently put the lack of transfer activity down to the club not being able to afford their targets.

The fee being mooted for Malcom would break Tottenham’s transfer record – whether they can afford to do that midway through the season remains to be seen.

What’s more, Spurs already have plenty of players in the attacking midfield positions, with Moura and Erik Lamela both coming good in the early stages of this season.
