Tottenham are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers starlet Vilius Piliukaitis, according to reports.

Piliukaitis, 17, is currently on loan at Blackburn from the Lithuanian National Football Academy, but the Lancashire club has an option to sign him permanently.

However, interest from each of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ sides – Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea – could see Piliukaitis turn down the chance to join Blackburn on a permanent basis.

That’s according to TEAMtalk. The outlet claims Spurs and Liverpool have a long standing interest in the teenager but now face competition from the Premier League’s other top clubs.

Piliukaitis has been impressing for Blackburn’s youth side. If Tottenham manage to beat their rivals to his signature, he would likely go into the academy squad rather than the first-team group.

Spurs are in need of a striker to provide cover and competition for Harry Kane, with Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen both having failed to do so over recent seasons.

Piliukaitis could provide that in the long-term but not immediately, so Tottenham may prefer to recruit a more experienced striker in upcoming transfer windows.
