Manchester United have entered the race to sign AS Roma forward and reported Tottenham target Cengiz Under, according to ESPN.

Under has scored three goals and provided six assists across all competitions for Roma so far this season.

The 21-year-old was heavily linked with Spurs before he left Turkey for Italy in the summer of 2017 but a deal failed to materialise.

ESPN claims Under will not leave Roma this month but he is likely to depart at the end of the season.

It is believed Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern Munich are now all interested in taking the Turkey international this summer.

However, Roma are said to value Under in excess of €50 million (£44.7m), which would require Spurs to break their transfer record.

It’s difficult to see Tottenham spending that amount of money on a striker who may not get many minutes because of Harry Kane’s stature at the club.

That said, Spurs are desperate for a forward at present with Kane ruled out until March and Son Heung-min away with South Korea at the Asian Cup.

Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen are set to leave either this month or at the end of the season, so Tottenham could move for a new striker soon.
