Real Madrid are willing to include James Rodriguez in a part-exchange deal for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with a move to Madrid in recent weeks.

There have been contrasting reports as to whether Eriksen will sign a new deal with Spurs or seek an exit this summer, with some suggesting talks between the Dane and Tottenham have stalled.

Real Madrid are likely to interested regardless, and Spanish outlet AS believes the champions of Europe could offer James Rodriguez to Spurs in order to convince the Londoners to let Eriksen leave.

James is currently in the second season of a two-year loan at Bayern Munich but has struggled to make an impact in the Bundesliga this term.

Regardless, he is a very talented attacking midfielder and would be an ideal replacement for Eriksen should Tottenham decide to do business with Madrid.

Preferably, however, Spurs will agree terms with Eriksen on a new contract. There is always the risk that James wouldn’t succeed in England.
