Real Madrid are no longer pursuing Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen, according to reports in Spain.

Eriksen’s contract expires at the end of the next season and the midfielder has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid.

It is unclear whether the Dane is willing to sign a new deal with Spurs, leading to ongoing speculation about his future.

But according to Spanish outlet Diario AS (via Football Espana), Madrid have ended their interest in Eriksen and will not pursue a deal for him this summer.

The report comes after Eden Hazard’s admission he has made a decision about his Chelsea future amid his links with Real Madrid.

Hazard is in a similar situation to Eriksen, out of contract at the end of 2019/20 and said to be stalling on a new deal.

If Madrid truly have given up on Eriksen, there is a good chance they have decided to sign Hazard instead, which is great news for Tottenham.

All that’s left if for Spurs to finally agree terms on a new contract with Eriksen to end any lingering speculation.

  1. I don’t believe anything those Spanish pricks write. Give it a couple of weeks at most and they’ll have changed their tune again to “Madrid confirm interest in Eriksen” who’s a definite Summer target for El Presidente along with Pochettino, Kane and Alli.
Davison Sanchez and Winks will be targets next season if they continue to be written about in glowing terms.
