Zinedine Zidane has been named Real Madrid’s new manager and could target Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen this summer, according to the Independent.

Zidane surprisingly left Madrid last summer after winning his third Champions League title in as many years at the Bernabeu.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was heavily linked with the post at the time and has recently been mooted as a potential appointment once again following a disastrous run of form under Santiago Solari.

But Madrid have now confirmed Zidane has returned, replacing Solari on a three-year contract.

The Independent claims Madrid have promised Zidane summer transfer funds amounting to upwards of £300 million.

With that money, Madrid have been tipped to move for four specific players: Eriksen, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard.

They are unlikely to sign all four as doing so would cost even more than £300 million, but Hazard and Eriksen are out of contract at the end of next season and could be lured to the Spanish capital.

Eriksen has been out of form lately but Tottenham fans will be hoping a new deal can be agreed soon to avoid losing the Dane.
