Tottenham are interested in signing PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn this summer, according to reports in the Netherlands.

Bergwijn has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season and featured against Spurs in the Champions League group stages.

Dutch outlet De Telegraaf (via Sport Witness) claims Bergwijn is expected to leave PSV this summer and Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on a deal.

The 21-year-old is being tipped to break PSV’s transfer record, which currently stands at the €34m Manchester United paid for Memphis Depay back in the summer of 2015.

That fee, or slightly more, should be an affordable price for Spurs, who are expected to spend this summer having failed to bring in a single new player in each of the last two transfer windows.

A new attacking midfielder could be on Mauricio Pochettino’s shortlist, particularly with Christian Eriksen’s future still up in the air – the Dane is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with Real Madrid.

Tottenham are also reportedly fond of a £70m-rated Serie A star – read more about those links here.
