Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring negotiations between West Bromwich Albion and highly-rated midfielder Rekeem Harper, according to the Daily Mail.

Harper is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree terms on a new deal with his current employers.

The 19-year-old has made 10 Championship appearances for West Brom so far this season, failing to find the net but providing one assist.

The Mail claims Spurs are keeping an eye on Harper’s situation ahead of a possible summer move for the teenager.

Tottenham are in need of a new central midfielder after losing Mousa Dembele to the Chinese Super League in the January transfer window.

The Harper link was mentioned towards the end of a larger report we relayed this week concerning Spurs’ potential interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who is currently on loan at Real Betis.

Lo Celso, 22, would be more of a readymade option, but Harper is younger and would boost Tottenham’s homegrown quota.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs move for either player this summer.
