Tottenham Hotspur have held talks with the representatives of Ajax star Donny van de Beek, according to the Guardian.

Earlier this week, we relayed reports suggesting Van de Beek would be interested in a move to either Spurs or Manchester United.

The Dutchman was one of the standout players during Ajax’s incredible 2018/19 season in which they won the domestic double but lost to Tottenham in the Champions League semi-final.

Van de Beek scored the only goal in the first leg against Spurs but was unable to stop Mauricio Pochettino’s men staging a remarkable comeback in Amsterdam.

And now, the Guardian claims Tottenham are interested in taking the 22-year-old from Ajax in the coming weeks.

In the same report that revealed Spurs have entered talks with Lyon over the signing of Tanguy Ndombele, the newspaper says there have been discussions between the Londoners and Van de Beek’s agents.

It is believed Tottenham have also spoken to the representatives of Roma teenager Nicolo Zaniolo ahead of a potential summer move.

Things are certainly starting to get exciting for Spurs fans when it comes to transfers, but the club still hasn’t made a signing since January 2018.
